We drove and drove and made it into Arizona and all the way to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon! What a spectacular site! The wind was blowing and it was very cold so we did not stay to do any hikes. We had to hit the road and see more of Arizona anyways. We traveled through the state of Arizona seeing cactus all over the countryside. I am talking about cactus like you see in the movies or cartoons = ) Unfortunately, we did not get any pictures of them. As we drove we saw an Arizona sunset, so many colors! Sandy was exhausted so she went to sleep. I put in a good CD, loaded up on coffee, and drove us into New Mexico. It was dark by then and all I could see of New Mexico was what felt like the biggest sky I have ever seen! The stars stretched from above to the horizon in every direction! I drove us to a Walmart where we slept = ) Yes folks back to sleeping in Walmart parking lots = ) We are driving right now to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico. Will write more later! So much love!!!!
